hi there! call me elyssa. [ah-lee-sah.] sixteen, new york. my mind is always wandering, and here's where you'll see it go. my theme is really boring, i know. i'm kinda boring too actually. i like glee and skins and weeds a lot. i love music, and basically live off of the adrenaline i get from going to shows. the maine, jack's mannequin, something corporate, taking back sunday, mayday parade, all time low, a rocket to the moon, every avenue, versaemerge, the summer set, you me at six, set your goals, brighten, this century, etc. <3 i'm a perfectionist, an overachiever, but above all, i'm human. talk to me sometime, i love meetin new people. :)
condensed, because no one wants to read a novel about my day.
- woke up
- school
- left at 9:15, after 2nd period. i’m such a badass, i know.
- went to the bank/cvs with allissa.
- went to allissa’s house so she could get all her snowboarding stuff because that’s where me and her would “be” after school today. though my mother knew i was going to the city, hers did not.
- en route to train station.
- cops everywhere = paranoid.
- go park.
- PAY. (this will be crucial later!)
- get train tickets, get on train.
- hot college boy on train. hng.
- see hot college boy hook up with girl. sad.
- get off train, follow huge crowd of green people to connecting train to nyc.
- wait on platform, see hot kid allissa works with. hng.
- train comes, we are about to board when i get tackled by a few of my best friends. they’re drunk. very drunk. i ask for some alcohol, they give us the rest of their water bottle, which was about an eighth. nothing much.
- finally in the city! but the parade already started, so we had to run, partially tipsy, to find 55th and 5th. we were at 31st and 7th. l o l.
- stop at street vendor to get irish stuff, because we weren’t decked out enough. he tells me to never be a smoker though he has a cigarette hanging from his mouth. okay positive role model, okay.
- after much walking and detours, we are at 52nd and 5th. find random group of friends, drunk friends, say hello and move on.
- me and allissa want alcohol. baaaaaaaaaaaaaadly.
- find john! john is very drunk as well. he says he’s going to meet his 21 year old friend, and we’re like yo, can she get us drinks, he says yes, so we go with him.
- run into more friends. more drunk friends. everyone’s drunk. h8 being sober, but <3 being around so many drunk people. its amusing.
- allissa’s mom texts/calls her “where are you school called”
- lol we fucked. well she is at least.. my mother knows where i am.
- talk to johns friend for a while.
- go in the lego store so allissa can figure out what shes gonna say to her mom.
- figure it out.
- bathrooms.
- “where are we going?” john says apparently the whole gang from my town got kicked out of our ‘spot’ at 55th and 5th, and they all went to central park. try to decide if we wanna walk all the way to central park.
- run into that hot kid allissa works with again. irony? fate? one of those.
- walk to central park.
- run into more friends/people. see some kids from our town.
- I SAW A FUCKING GIRL ON THE SIDE OF THE STREET WHO I WENT TO CAMP WITH. LIKE HOW. HOW DID I EVEN RECOGNIZE HER. weird.
- leave central park.
- allissa got jamba juice.
- still don’t have alcohol, and realize we aren’t gonna be getting it… sad, but we think our day was still fairly decent.
- john’s friend told us about this place that had green bagels and shamrock shaped bagels, i had to go there.
- we somehow stumble into times square.
- find bagel place. green bagels, win.
- rushing to get back to train station.
- find a train, board, find seats. finaaaaaaally get to rest my feet.. start eating my green bagel.
- some kids ask if they can sit in the seats next to us (where i was resting my fucking feet) i say sure, cause i’m nice.
- realize one of those kids is friend’s friend’s ex-boyfriend. awkward, cause i know him but he doesnt know me.
- get off train at junction, desperately try to find train to lead us back to our train station. get on train, safe. packed. no room to sit anywhere :(
- complain about how much i wanna be in my bed, while allissa is paranoid that her mom knows she isn’t “snowboarding” (which is what we told her we were doing and left school early for. lol. her mom said she’d kill her if she found out that she was in the city.)
- realize our station is next, begin to move towards doors.
- stop at our station.
- doors don’t open.
- wtf.
- why.
- guy at door tells us that only the middle doors open because the station is so small… fuck.
- desperately run to next set of doors though the aisles are packed and drunk people won’t move. no good.
- beg conductor to open doors and let us out since they just shut.
- he pauses, then says no. DICK, YOU ARE A FUCKING DICK. we have to get off at next station… fuck.
- allissa gets more paranoid. “we’re never gonna get home we’re never getting home!”
- i call my dad, since he lives about one town over, and ask him if he can get us from this train station and drive us back to my car at the other station.
- get to station, sit there like bums waiting for my dad.
- he gets there.
- pack into his truck while he asks us about our day.
- get back to our train station.
- there’s a ticket on my car.
- YEAH, WTF. I PAID FOR MY PARKING SPOT.
- get pissed as fuck.
- drive home, singing, and laughing, because all this irony was actually really funny. i didnt care that i got a ticket, i was gonna plead not guilty.
- yeahyeah, dropped allissa off… now i’m home.
- not bad.
- just amusing.
- i liked it.
- next year, goin nuts.
- this year was just planned last minute, s0.
- YUP.
- last number.
